Hello Everyone! I’m so excited to share everything we did this week with you! It was a busy and hard-working week, and everyone definitely deserves a round of applause. Without further ado, let’s get right into it!
The update you have all been waiting for... Genre! We did our last critiques and revisions this week and are finally done! (Besides the little touch-ups we’ll do next week) Our biggest challenge this week was shortening our speeches. As we made our draft, we wrote away as much writing as we wanted. But this week, we had the challenge of shortening your speech to make it clear and concise. Have you ever been listening to a speech or presentation and got bored because of the rambling about the same thing? Well, this is precisely the problem we are trying to avoid. We want speeches filled with power and structure so our audiences are engaged the entire time. Only stating what is necessary and essential, while giving clear evidence everyone can take in.
Another skill we practiced this week is how to watch yourself on video. Everyone knows that nobody likes seeing videos of themselves speaking. But this is very important to do since we need to understand what to improve on and what to continue observing our speaking skills.
Now, for Quest, we worked on our beautiful cities, which are almost done! Everyone followed their plans for who was making what, and we got to work! Everybody worked SO incredibly hard this week in the cities, working countless hours at school and home.
Lastly, we can’t forget our extraordinary field trip on Thursday! We visited the Museum of Natural History and saw so many amazing exhibits. The highlight for most of us was the 20-minute show at the planetarium. It was so nice to take a break from the work week, and everyone had a really great time!
Thank you for tuning in to the weekly newsletter of the week. When I say that everyone has been working so hard, I mean it. Just one more week to go! We are also so very much excited about our exhibition, and getting to share all of our work with you! Especially the Talent Show, which should be lots of fun!
Happy Hannukah, and Merry Christmas to everyone!
