AABC's Founding
In August 2019, Acton Academy of Bergen County (AABC) was founded by Michal Lesham and Shira Cohen.
Before launching AABC, Michal worked as a guide at Acton Verona in Essex County, NJ. Driven by a passion for providing a forward-thinking, educational option for her four children and other young Learners, Michal opened Acton Academy in Bergen County, NJ.
THE JOURNEY SO FAR...
2019: AABC launches with 13 Learners in one Discovery Studio.
2026: Acton is home to 90+ learners in 4 studios: Sparks, Discovery, Journey, and Launchpad.
2026: Niko Guzman becomes our first graduate, accepted to Stony Brook University with a transcript built entirely within our learner-driven model.
