Journey: Session 3, Week 4

Welcome to week 4 of session 3! Some intriguing things happened this past week, so let us get into it.

For this week's Genre, we started the week strong with a six traits critique that we could use to reduce and refine our speeches to hone in on what we are most grateful for. We aim for our speeches to be between 500 and 750 words with the entries of our gratitude journals that we feel best express ourselves.

In Civ, we discussed the topic of ‘Schumpeter and Creative Destruction’ on Tuesday. We also discussed controlling the market and price jacking during hurricanes when resources are limited. Then, on Thursday, we debated utility versus safety regarding nuclear power, as it is one of the most effective green energy sources available. Still, when accidents happen, it can be catastrophic.

For Quest this week, we focused on our characters for the McCarthy trials. We brainstormed costumes and even bought props if we so wished. As for our scripts, we were each given a question to answer in some way, shape, or form. We will use this for the trials in the exhibition, and we are so excited to show you.

We had a fascinating field trip where we could jump, twist, and tumble at Urban Air. It is an indoor adventure park in New Jersey with trampolines, rock climbing, arcades, and more. Everyone had a great time there; it was a highlight of the week for many.

That concludes what happened this past week; stay informed in next week's newsletter!
