Journey: Session 5, Week 5

Can you believe it is already week 5 of session 5? Times flies!

The Children's Business Fair is coming in one week, and everyone is getting ready. The Falcons have been working hard in the past week to create their products, craft their posters, and plan their booth.  During Quest, the Falcons finished revising the website they built to sell their product and focused on the sales pitch for the exhibition next week.

Some Falcons have already secured an in-person meeting with the place where they want to do their first apprenticeship. We had a couple of very exciting phone calls this week, and the Falcons did well explaining what they can contribute as apprentices.

The Falcons who chose to practice track this session will run the 5K race on Sunday! We can't wait to hear all about it and wish them good luck!

Wednesday’s morning launch was a heated debate about sales funnels. One of the questions the Falcons enjoyed discussing was: It is the year 2007, and you are the CEO of Starbucks. Your business has revolutionized coffee over its 36 years, and even more impressively, without the use of a single form of advertising. Your sales funnel has been a commitment to in-store branding, consistency, and happy employees. In addition, the fact that you have been able to avoid advertising has actually become a form of advertising, creating talking points amongst the consumer base. Ultimately, word of mouth has been the backbone of your success. But the landscape is changing, with the internet and new media forging new branding visions, trending campaigns, and this thing called going viral, all of which will be utilized by oncoming competitors. Do you venture into this new type of sales funnel for the first time to ensure you compete with others? Or do you stick with your existing and successful sales funnel?

We look forward to seeing all of you in our exhibition on 5/14 at 2:00 PM! Please come on time.
