Hello parents and guests!
We are now entering the part of Session 3 where things really start moving. This week was full of Quest challenges, AI learning, and exciting anticipation for our upcoming trip. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:
#1 – The AI Badge: Taking the World by Storm
This Session, alongside our Quest and Genre work, learners are earning an AI Badge. This badge focuses on using artificial intelligence in a responsible, ethical, and effective way, while also helping learners get the most out of these powerful tools.
This week, learners used AI to:
Design a possible career path
Chat with a historical figure to deepen their understanding of history
These activities helped learners see AI as a tool for learning, creativity, and problem-solving—not shortcuts.
#2 – Quest Game Design Begins: 11 Challenges and Counting
Week two was bustling with Quest challenges, with two or more challenges each day. Learners explored:
Different types of graphs
Probability and Monte Carlo simulations
Decision-making tools
Most exciting of all, learners officially began designing their Decision-Making Games. Each learner is combining a real-world problem, a decision-making strategy, and thoughtful game design to create a game that challenges players to think critically. We can’t wait to see how these designs develop!
#3 – It’s Almost Here: The Launchpad Trip to Orlando
This Sunday, the Launchpad Studio will be flying to Orlando, Florida for a four-day trip! During the trip, learners will visit Universal Studios and explore one of the largest and most established Acton Academies in the world.
Each learner planned a day of the trip, and the variety of creative and exciting ideas has been impressive. This will also be the first Launchpad trip with Mia and Omer B., making it even more special. We are incredibly excited and can’t wait to share the experience with you.
Next week will bring Florida fun, continued Quest game design, and plenty of stories to tell. Stay tuned!
