Memory Books, House Cup, Water Play & Cooking Challenges (Session 6, Week 1)

Greetings from Sparks Kingdom!

Welcome to the first week of our final session of the school year. It has been a week full of reflection, creativity, outdoor exploration, and community building.

On Monday, the learners:

• Discussed what memories are and how we can create meaningful ones.

• Jumped into their Core Work.

• Voted on the song and dance they will perform for Niko at his graduation ceremony.

• Enjoyed outdoor free time in the woods and on the playground.

On Tuesday, the learners:

• Continued singing and worked with Journey mentors to memorize the lyrics of their chosen song.

• Participated in a Launch exploring whether it is more rewarding to sing and express ourselves individually or as part of a community.

• Learned choreography for their graduation performance, created and led by our Journey mentors.

On Wednesday, the Sparks:

• Discussed what it means to reflect and think back on past experiences.

• Competed in House Cup games with their Houses.

• Continued working on their Memory Books as a way to reflect on the school year.

• Enjoyed time in the woods and lots of water play.

On Thursday, the learners:

• Began the day with a Launch about tsunamis, discussing the power, impact, and importance of water.

• Continued their Core Work.

• Dedicated additional time to completing their Memory Books.

• Spent the afternoon enjoying the outdoors and water play activities.

To end the week, the learners:

• Explored food chains and discussed what different animals eat, why they eat those foods, and how those choices impact humans.

• Continued their Core Work.

• Began a Cooking Quest challenge by creating their own recipes, which will later be voted on and prepared.

• Enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors with friends and water play materials.
