Hello parents, learners, families, and friends,
I can’t believe the session is already over! Let’s start with everything we accomplished in Writer’s Workshop and Quest this session.
Because it was the final week, we spent extra time on what we call “Whatever You Need Time.” This gave learners the opportunity to catch up on unfinished work and focus on personal goals. Many learners reached their Writer’s Workshop milestones and even completed a full writing badge this session! We also wrapped things up with our final geography bee in the studio.
On Monday, we went on a field trip to go ice skating, and it was so much fun. We skated for almost an hour, and the rink even had a hot chocolate vending machine! Some learners had skated before, but for many, it was their first time. For beginners, the rink provided skating supports to help with balance, which made the experience enjoyable for everyone.
The highlight of the week was definitely the talent show. There were so many incredible performances, but since I’m in the Discovery Studio, I have to say—I think we did the best! A huge congratulations to all the learners who graduated to the next studio this session.
On Friday, we ended the week with our annual Christmas party. We started by watching a movie, and most Discovery learners chose How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We also enjoyed festive crafts like making snowflakes and ornaments. One of the most exciting activities was the gingerbread house competition, where the guides judged which team created the best gingerbread house!
It was a wonderful way to celebrate a successful session filled with learning, growth, and fun.
