AABC Learners Explore Talents, Wildlife, Heroes & Community Fun (Session 2, Week 1)

Dear Sparks’ Tribe Families,

What an exciting and joy-filled week it has been for our tribe! The Sparks embraced every day with energy, curiosity, and connection. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

✨ Movement Monday We kicked off the week with a Halloween follow-along dance that tested each learner’s ability to listen carefully and follow directions. Afterwards, our tribe reflected on how they felt before, during, and after the dance—leading to some wonderful discoveries about how movement can shift our moods and energy.

🌟 Talent Tuesday Sparks explored the theme of hidden talents during our Talent Tuesday launch. It was a powerful moment of self-exploration as each learner reflected on unique abilities they might not have previously recognized as talents. The tribe enjoyed sharing and celebrating one another’s gifts!

🐢 Wildlife Wednesday Midweek, Sparks took a virtual journey through the wildlife of New Jersey. We learned about the diamondback terrapin turtle, jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, and other fascinating creatures that call our state home. Learners shared stories about animals they’ve encountered and even imagined which ones they might like as pets.

🦸 Hero’s Journey Thursday On Thursday, the tribe dove into what makes a hero’s journey a true journey. After watching a short video on the common elements heroes share, Sparks reflected on personal experiences that helped them grow and transform. It was inspiring to hear how each learner connects to their own story of courage and change.

🎃 Friendly Friday We ended the week with a community celebration—our AABC Halloween Party! The day was full of laughter, creativity, and connection as the entire school joined in for themed stations, projects, and games. Our tribe also enjoyed a fun trip to Mollicone Park before returning for the highly anticipated Halloween costume contest. What a perfect way to wrap up the week!
