AI Job Interviews, Career Goals, Greek City-States, and Alpine Adventures (Session 1, Week 6)

Welcome to Launchpad’s sixth week! This week, learners focused on career planning, practiced job interviews with AI, explored ancient Greek societies, and enjoyed an outdoor adventure at Alpine Scout Camp. Here’s a look at what we accomplished!
Quest: NGA Boards and AI-Powered Interviews
This week in Quest, we focused on two main projects: our NGA boards and practice job interviews using AI.
We designed and created content for our NGA boards, including our personal “Why” statements, potential callings, goals for the year, and more. These elements help us reflect on who we are, what motivates us, and where we want to go.
We also used AI to prepare for job interviews. By taking on the role of a prospective employer, AI presented us with challenging questions and complex scenarios, helping us practice our responses and build confidence before real-world interviews.
Genre: Lights, Camera… Rehearsal!
In Genre, we continued preparing for next week’s mock interviews. We partnered with our peers and took turns playing both the interviewer and the interviewee.
After each practice session, we gave one another feedback and identified areas for improvement. This gave us an opportunity to refine our communication skills, practice answering challenging questions, and prepare for the upcoming interviews.
Civ: Exploring the Greek Polis
This week in Civ, we explored the ancient Greek city-states of Sparta and Athens. We studied their societies and considered what makes a society successful.
One question that sparked discussion was:
Was Sparta a great society? What criteria are you using: power, fairness, stability, freedom, or something else?
By examining these different criteria, we considered how our values influence the way we evaluate societies and what it means for a civilization to thrive.
Alpine Scout Camp: A Day of Adventure!
One of the highlights of the week was AABC’s trip to Alpine Scout Camp!
The day was packed with activities, including House games, fire-building, outdoor cooking, hiking, and much more. It was a great opportunity to work together, challenge ourselves, and enjoy time outdoors.
Although almost everyone went home smelling like campfire smoke, we can all agree that it was a successful and memorable day!
Looking Ahead: Exhibition Week
This week combined career preparation, history, technology, and outdoor learning, setting the stage for next week’s big event: the Exhibition!
We’re looking forward to sharing our work and everything we’ve learned. Thanks for reading, and see you next week!
