Interviews, Career Exploration & World History (Session 1, Week 3)

Welcome to Launchpad’s Third Week!
This has been an extremely busy week! With our Lip Dub video and Studio Contracts complete, Session One has officially begun.
This Session, our Genre is focused on interviews. While we will eventually work our way up to interviewing for our dream jobs, we are starting at the most basic level: with ourselves.
To prepare for this challenge, we were introduced to the concept of the mask. A mask can be a form of protection—a way we hide parts of our true selves so that others only see what we choose to show them. Throughout the week, we reflected on our own masks and considered what we may be hiding behind them.
Quest: Career Exploration
This Session, our Quest is centered around finding a job—but not just any job. We are exploring how we can use our individual skills and interests to find work that we are passionate about, including opportunities to work as freelancers.
To prepare for this, we practiced extreme vulnerability. We not only dug deep to uncover some of our most challenging moments, but also practiced sharing those experiences with another Launchpadder.
Civilization: World History
This year, our Civ. focus is World History. Throughout the year, we will explore the secrets of global civilizations, research and reflect on decisions made by world leaders, and consider why civilizations rise and fall.
This week, we began by learning about several ancient civilizations, including Rome, Greece, and Sumer.
Alpine
On Friday, we headed to Alpine, where we spent time hiking, working with Zach, our survival guide, and enjoying time in nature.
While this week was incredibly busy, it was also fun, rewarding, and full of learning.
