Our trip to Puerto Rico is over! It was filled with fun, food, and plenty of memorable moments.

Day 1–2: Isla Verde Beach & Culebra Adventure

We left school on Friday at 2:30 PM to get to the airport early. Traffic was heavy, and it took about two hours to reach JFK Airport, but we made our flight and arrived at SJU at 10:00 PM.

Unfortunately, by the time we landed, the rental car company we had planned to use had already closed, so we took an Uber to our Airbnb and got some much-needed rest.

The next morning, we picked up our rental car from Zezgo Car Rentals and headed out for breakfast. Afterward, we went to Isla Verde Beach for our first activity: a banana boat ride. It was an exciting and fun start to the trip. We spent the rest of the day at the beach before heading back to cook pasta for dinner.

Day 2 started very early at 4:30 AM as we drove about an hour to reach the Culebra ferry. After a 1.5-hour ferry ride, we arrived at the beautiful island of Culebra. There, we joined a guided tour that included snorkeling with sea turtles and stingrays—an unforgettable experience. After another full day at the beach, we returned to our Airbnb and made a dinner of ground beef, rice, and beans.

Day 3–4: El Yunque, Flamenco Beach & Old San Juan

On Day 3, we woke up at a more reasonable hour and headed to El Yunque National Forest. Once there, we took a bus to a natural waterslide and swimming area surrounded entirely by nature, with no man-made structures. We explored the area further before continuing on to Flamenco Beach, one of the most beautiful and well-known beaches in Puerto Rico.

Although we had planned a rainforest adventure that didn’t fully materialize, the early return allowed us to end the day with a great dinner at a local restaurant.

On our final day, even though we were flying home, we made the most of our time in Puerto Rico. We explored Old San Juan, learned about its rich history, and walked through its colorful streets and historic architecture. We had lunch at a pizzeria, visited a castle, and continued exploring the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

We arrived at the airport at 5:30 PM and flew back NJ.
