This week was a blast!

PE

On Monday, learners visited a commercial gym and worked with a professional trainer. In addition to learning about physical fitness and healthy habits, they experienced recovery practices such as a cold plunge and sauna session.

Genre

In Genre, learners completed their “Money Manifesto,” bringing together everything they have learned throughout the session. Each manifesto included reflections on an investment role model, a personal investment story with a moral lesson, and clearly defined investment principles, all compiled into a cohesive final product.

Quest

This week in Quest, learners focused on Exhibition preparation. They selected their investment style and decided on the topic they would pitch. Learners also brainstormed external events that could impact investment outcomes for their guests. Working in pairs, they created slideshow presentations analyzing the most promising investment forms. On Friday, they presented their slideshows to Journey learners, who voted on a winning presentation.

In addition, learners participated in two field trips to local businesses. On Thursday, they visited BlueIronPhysio, where they learned about physical therapy and the entrepreneur’s journey in building the business. On Friday, they visited Roots Café and gained insight into what it takes to operate a café. Both experiences provided meaningful real-world learning.

Civics

In Civics, learners researched different types of government and examined how long various systems tend to last. They also studied the Federalists and Anti-Federalists, and engaged in a debate about whether the United States operates as a more centralized or decentralized system of government.
