While the final week of the session was certainly busy, it was also filled with excitement, achievement, and plenty of fun.
Quest
This week in Quest, learners focused on preparing for the Exhibition. They finalized their posters, polished their scripts, and completed their presentation stations to ensure everything was ready for guests.
During Tuesday's Exhibition, learners put their hard work into action by presenting their ideas and encouraging visitors to invest in their stations. The event was a tremendous success, with learners demonstrating confidence, creativity, and professionalism. Most importantly, guests had a wonderful time engaging with the projects and learning about the work completed throughout the session.
Genre
In Genre, learners completed their Money Manifestos by submitting them for greenlighting and providing constructive feedback to one another. Once approved, the final versions were printed and shared with guests during the Exhibition, allowing learners to showcase their thinking and writing skills.
Civics
This week in Civics, learners explored several approaches to understanding history and government.
One area of study focused on historical methodologies, including the Whig interpretation of history, which views history as a story of continual progress, where the present improves upon the past and the future improves upon the present. Learners also examined Narrative History and considered how different perspectives shape our understanding of historical events.
The class also explored the system of checks and balances within the federal government, discussing whether those constitutional safeguards are functioning today as they were originally intended when the United States was founded.
Alpine Adventure
To conclude the session, learners spent Friday at Alpine Scout Camp. They participated in games with their Houses alongside learners from across the school, strengthening teamwork and community connections.
One of the highlights of the day was hiking the Giant Steps trail and taking in the spectacular view of the New York City skyline from the top of Alpine. It was a memorable experience and a fitting way to celebrate the end of a successful and rewarding session.
Looking Ahead
We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break after a productive session filled with learning, growth, and achievement.
We also look forward to seeing many of you this weekend at the Children's Business Fair, where our young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, innovation, and hard work.
Have a wonderful break, and we'll see you soon!
