Hello, fellow learners, parents, and… everyone!

We had a very busy week! Between WW, Quest, Core Skills, House Cup, Math Lab, Art, and more, there was a lot going on. So, let’s get into it!

Monday

On Monday, we started with a launch and then jumped into Core Skills. Lots of learners made great progress and finished a lot of work!

We also started learning about Freedom Levels, which we’ll tell you more about later.

After Core Skills, we had D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read). We got to read books and share book proposals and reviews. Then we enjoyed some outdoor free time before heading into Quest.

And what is our Quest this session?

Carnival Quest!

On the first day, we started thinking about things that would be fun to have at our carnival. You’re probably wondering what the carnival is. Well, at the end of the session, we’ll be putting on a carnival for you!

We’re not going to spoil anything else, so let’s move on to the next day.

Tuesday

Tuesday started with our usual launch and Core Skills. After that, North had Math Lab while South had Art.

In Math Lab, we started with a number game. One person would say 2, the next person would say 4, then 6, and so on. If you haven’t figured it out yet, we were counting by 2s!

Then we tried counting by 3s and 4s. After that, we worked on math sheets and multiplication games. We finished with an ALEKS competition where the person with the highest percentage won.

And what did the winners get?

One Falcon Buck each!

If you don’t know what ALEKS is, ask your learner!

Now, let’s move on to Art.

In Art, we designed and made a mini room. We had to look at a mini person and measure the mini room in relation to the mini person, imagining how big the room would be in real life compared to the person. It was a lot of fun!

Later, during WW, we wrote for our Hero Board about the Monster of Resistance.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, we had launch and Core Skills, but this time we had House Cup Core Skills.

Then we had PD at the park and some free time. After that, we went back to Quest and continued working on our carnival.

We already have so many ideas, including food, rides, and much more. We’re all really excited about it!

Thursday

On Thursday, we worked on Core Skills and then had Math Lab and Art.

We also continued learning about Freedom Levels. Freedom Level 1 is about taking responsibility for finishing your goals and completing the work you have committed to.

During WW, we also continued exploring our Monsters of Resistance and wrote about the Monster of Distraction.

Friday

On Friday, we headed to Alpine!

We went on the Red Dot Trail, played at the fort, and spent time with our Houses for House Cup. We also had our squad leader meetings.

And that was our week!

Have a great weekend!
