Civ Completion, Final Quest Short Films & Double or Nothing Challenge (Session 6, Week 5)

Our year is almost over! Here are the details for our second-to-last week:

#1 – Civ is Over! Final Challenges & Badge Compilation

Yes, you read it correctly—our American History Civ. unit has come to an end!

This week, learners completed their final two Challenges and then compiled their Civ. Badge. As a final motivator, learners were given one last goal: if they finished, compiled, and received approval for their Civ. Badge by Thursday, they would earn a trip to the pool.

Every learner met the challenge successfully, and on Thursday we celebrated with a well-earned pool visit at Michal’s pool.

#2 – Final Quest Project: A Short Film to Remember

Our final project for Session 6 Photography Quest was a narrative short film, including both a script and a storyboard.

On Thursday, each learner completed and submitted their film. The results were creative, surprising, and sometimes completely unexpected—from stories about bugs and morals to chaos, stocks, and everything in between.

We can’t share them here, but make sure to ask any of the Launchpad learners to show you their films—they’re absolutely worth watching.

#3 – Double or Nothing Challenge

Work hard and win, or work hard and still lose!

As shared in previous newsletters, learners participated in our Session game: Double or Nothing. The idea is simple—set extremely challenging academic goals, achieve them, and double your Falcon Bucks. If not, you risk losing them all.

While this approach is intense, it has motivated many learners to push themselves and complete meaningful academic goals. Some learners are on track to succeed, while others are still working toward their targets.

Next week will be the final week of the year, filled with graduations, final compilations, and a special last day celebration. We can’t wait to share it all with you!
