Debates, Exhibitions, Quest Projects & the Children's Business Fair (Session 5, Week 6)

- 2 min read

We have officially reached the final week of the session! The Exhibitions are complete, badges have been compiled, and the hard work of the past several weeks has come together. While the session may be ending, there was still plenty to accomplish before crossing the finish line.
Genre
This week in Genre, learners finalized their debates. After receiving critiques, they revised their work, recorded their debates, revised again, and ultimately submitted their final versions for greenlighting. It was a rigorous process that challenged learners to refine both their arguments and their communication skills.
Quest
In Quest, learners completed their tri-fold displays, showcasing every aspect of the fictional lives they created throughout the session. Once their tri-folds were finished, they entered the lengthy but important greenlighting process to ensure that every project was truly Exhibition-ready. The effort and attention to detail were evident in the final presentations.
Apprenticeship
This week in Apprenticeship, learners prepared for the Exhibition by writing thoughtful responses to the questions they anticipated receiving during the Q&A sessions. They then put those preparations into practice by sharing their answers with visitors at the Exhibition and reflecting on their learning journey throughout the session.
Children's Business Fair
As many of you know, the Children's Business Fair will take place this Saturday! The event will feature a wide variety of businesses created and operated by Acton learners, along with many young entrepreneurs from outside the Acton community.
Unfortunately, Ozrik from the Journey Studio will not be able to attend in person. However, he has created an online store so that families can still support his business and purchase his products:
For those attending the fair, please come prepared for the weather and consider bringing an umbrella if rain is expected.
A Final Thank You
Normally, I would end with a simple closing, but as this is my final newsletter, I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Avigail Schieber for her help in writing the Apprenticeship section of each newsletter throughout the year. Your support and collaboration have been greatly appreciated.
Before I go, I'd like to leave you with a quote that has stayed with me:
"Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again."— Abraham Maslow
Thank you all for reading these newsletters, for supporting our learners, and for being part of this journey.
Goodbye, and best wishes for the future!
