Discovery: Session 5, Week 1

Hello parents and learners,

This week was our first week back To school. It was a very full week So let's get into it. 

First we're going to start with WW! 

For writers Workshop We have Real World Writing Carnival WW. From what I see it is very fun for the learners. Basically what it is is we have challenges kind of like last quest and whenever you finish a challenge you get points. And at the end of week 3 we will have a carnival shop. Like you know when you go to a carnival or a fair and then when you win something then you get a stuffy or a toy or something, that's what the carnival shop is. And on each Friday we have a spelling bee Like an Actual spelling bee!  

One of the challenges is a spelling quiz where someone quizzes you. You have to spell the word.  On the first day almost everyone did it. Some of the other challenges are making a flyer for the business fair or making a lost dog sign and some are even making cards or letters.   Well I'm pretty sure that's enough for Writers Workshop now let's move on to Quest 

In quest we have E-Ship Quest. This Quest is about the Children's Business Fair. Your learners are learning how to sell items and make a business. On Friday we had a hero's visit. The hero was a woman named Kelly.  Her business was making cookies, but not just cookies - magic cookies  - superpower cookies. They are made by people with disabilities.  And so the cookies are special and help teach people. It was very interesting and at the end everyone got cookies! There's not really anything else to talk about in Quest So let's move on to CIV

In CIV we're starting to learn about The Maya. On the first day we had a scavenger hunt. In certain parts of the scavenger hunts We got Pieces of a puzzle. When you finished the scavenger hunt you had to put the puzzle together. I don't really know what else we did so let's move on to Art. 

In art we did something very fun. Marie had lots of newspapers for us And other kinds of books And we had to cut stuff that we liked out and make a collage!  I think everyone loved it. Thanks for reading. Bye, have a great weekend and see you next week.
