Hello families and friends.
This week at Acton Academy was packed with excitement, learning, and fun!
Writer’s Workshop (WW)
Most learners completed their Writer’s Workshop assignments this week, while a few are still catching up—which is perfectly fine. On Friday, we held the WW Shop, full of fun items and creative activities for all.
Quest Highlights
Some learners have finished Quest, while others are still progressing. Everyone is especially excited for the upcoming Business Fair!
Food Markets & Cultural Experiences
Journey learners hosted a food market, giving everyone the chance to try delicious homemade treats. The Launchpad Studio held a Spanish Market, open to learners who speak Spanish or have siblings in that studio. Afternoons also included “Whatever You Need” Time, allowing learners to focus on Writer’s Workshop, Quest, or Core Skills as needed. In addition, we prepared for the next session by setting goals, requesting committee roles, and holding Squad Leader Elections.
Spring Party Fun
The week ended with a lively Spring Party organized by the council! Here’s the schedule:
11:00 AM: Arts & crafts, nature origami, and planting flowers
11:30 AM: Walk to Mollicone Park
11:45 AM: Tail tag and outdoor games
12:45 PM: Walk back to school
1:00 PM: Movie time (Sparks watched Finding Dory, Discovery watched Minecraft, Journey watched Maze Runner and Knives Out)
3:00 PM: Cleanup and closing
It was a fantastic week full of learning, creativity, and community spirit. Thank you for reading, and we look forward to seeing everyone next session. Enjoy your break!

It's wonderful to hear about the 'Whatever You Need Time' initiative, allowing learners to actively choose their focus. This approach truly empowers students and fosters a strong sense of ownership over their projects, whether it's their Writer's Workshop or Quest goals. Encouraging such self-directed learning environments is crucial for nurturing creativity and problem-solving skills. It reminds me of the limitless possibilities that open up when given the freedom to build and innovate. For anyone inspired by boundless creation and combining elements, you might enjoy exploring more at infinite craft possibilities.
One of the fascinating challenges in Infinite Craft recipes is figuring out how to make specific items, especially complex ones like 'Human' or 'Life'. You start with the four classical elements and through a long chain of combinations, you can eventually create incredibly abstract or specific things. It requires a mix of logic, lateral thinking, and sometimes just happy accidents. There are communities dedicated to sharing discoveries, but the real fun is in trying to figure out these crafting trees yourself. It’s a very rewarding and mentally stimulating game.
