Welcome to the final Launchpad newsletter of the Second Session!
While we continued a few regular weekly activities—such as Civics, which focused on the Civil War, and our NGA time—this week was filled with special end-of-Session experiences.
One major focus was Badge Compiling, where we gathered our most important achievements from the Session, including our Genre Restaurant Review video and Cooking and Chemistry course certificate. We compiled these accomplishments into a single document and reflected on our growth in both Quest and Genre. Another key activity was 360 Feedback, which we complete at the end of every Session. This process allows us to give honest and anonymous feedback to our peers across five categories: Intentionality, Civility, Excellence, Leadership, and Teamwork/Collaboration. Receiving our 360 scores is always a highlight of the week, especially knowing how much care and effort went into providing thoughtful, constructive feedback for one another.
On Tuesday, we hosted our Exhibition, which was unlike any we have held before. This time, we had the opportunity to prepare and serve a three-course dinner for our families. Using our newly gained knowledge of chemistry, we confidently explained scientific concepts and principles while serving a meal that was both educational and delicious. Although we encountered a minor setback during the evening, we worked together to ensure the night was memorable and enjoyable for everyone.
On Thursday, Acton hosted its schoolwide Talent Show, Art Gallery, and Graduation Ceremony. Learners from all studios worked incredibly hard on their performances and gallery pieces, which included stories and artwork. We were also inspired by graduation speeches from several Sparks and Journey learners. The day was filled with excitement, and it truly showcased the talent and dedication throughout the school. After witnessing it all, it’s clear that AABC is full of remarkable, talented individuals.
Overall, this final week was full of hard work, celebration, and joy as we completed another successful Session. Have a wonderful and happy holiday, and we look forward to seeing you all after the break!
