Field Trip! -

This week, Journey Learners finished the Intentionality Game. In the game, after each working period, a learner rates themself on how focused they were, and at the end of the day, if their total score is above 8.5, they receive a star. At the end of Week 6, these stars were counted, and the learners with 16 or more total stars went on a field trip to the Arte Museum in NYC.  The Arte Museum is an immersive experience with screens, smells, mirrors, and even fog. After that, the learners went to a food court to purchase something to eat, and then visited Little Island, which offers a great view of the Hudson River.

Quest! -

This week, for Quest, we finished preparing for the conversations that would take place during the Exhibition.  Each conversation had to be ten-minutes long and occur between a learner and a guest invited by another learner. After the conversation, the guest rated the conversation they had with the learner, and if the learner received a rating below an 8, they were unable to earn the badge. As you can imagine, each learner worked hard to come up with a topic for their conversation.  The conversations during the Exhibition were all very interesting and every learner felt relieved after taking part in their conversation.

Exhibition! -

For this Session’s Exhibition, the hosts and Studio presented the different projects we had worked on to parents and guests. It was a lot of fun describing the Lip Dub (which we all worked hard on during the first few weeks of the Session), and the TedTalk game, in which a learner created a funny presentation, and another learner had to read it and present it as if it was their own. After they had given the presentation, the Studio had to guess which learner actually created that presentation. At the end of the Exhibition, we read our Interview Stories to our parents, which were basically a summary of the interviews we conducted during the Session. Finally, we each took part in our ten - minute conversation with the guests.
