The beach, the pool, and our very first graduate—all part of an unforgettable Week 3!

Here's a look at everything that made this week so special.

Alpine Gets Even Better

This week's trip to Alpine included a first for our studio—we got to use the pool!

Every learner had the opportunity to go swimming, making an already exciting adventure even more memorable. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of time to enjoy the water. We hope to do it again next year!

Our Final Acton Family Gathering

This week also marked our final Acton family gathering of the school year at Oakland Beach.

Learners and families spent the day swimming in the waves, digging in the sand, and enjoying time together. It was the perfect way to celebrate another incredible year of learning and community. While we're sad to see this tradition end for the summer, we're already looking forward to gathering again next year.

Celebrating a Historic Milestone

One of the most exciting moments in Acton Academy's history took place this week as we celebrated our very first graduate—Niko Guzman!

Congratulations, Niko!

Your hard work, dedication, and kindness have made a lasting impact on our community. You consistently strive for excellence while supporting those around you, and we are incredibly proud of everything you've accomplished.

We can't wait to see where your Hero's Journey takes you next. Wishing you every success in the future!

Creative Quest in Action

With two shortened learning days this week, learners had a busy schedule, but that didn't stop them from producing outstanding work.

During Quest, learners:

  • Created commercials promoting products of their own design.

  • Practiced photography by capturing streets, landscapes, and everyday moments through a creative lens.

  • Continued developing their visual storytelling skills using Canon Rebel T5 cameras, an excellent tool for learning the fundamentals of photography.

A Learner's Reflection

Watching our first LaunchPad learner graduate has been a meaningful experience.

As someone who has been part of Acton Academy since its very first year—when our school consisted of just two classrooms shared with a Korean arts school and fewer than ten learners—it's incredible to see how much our community has grown.

This growth is a testament to everyone who has been part of the journey: our learners, our guides, our families, and especially Michal. Together, you have built a community where young people are challenged, supported, and inspired to discover their own Hero's Journey.

Thank you for being part of another unforgettable year. We can't wait to see what next year brings!
