Dear Sparks Families,
What an incredible first week back at Acton Academy! The Sparks jumped right into the rhythm of the studio, filling each day with energy, curiosity, and teamwork.
Team-Building Tuesday
We launched the week with a discussion on teamwork and the importance of supporting one another. Sparks then paired up for a fun yet challenging balloon race that put their sportsmanship and resilience to the test. The laughter, determination, and cooperation carried into core time, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.
Worldwide Wednesday
Sparks explored the rich traditions of the Māori culture, focusing on the famous Haka dance. After watching and reflecting, they shared stories about traditions passed down in their own families. It was inspiring to see the meaningful connections learners made to their heritage.
Conundrum Thursday
This week’s conundrum centered on treasure! Sparks debated how they would—or wouldn’t—divide a discovered treasure. The discussion deepened when they were asked to imagine if the Discovery Studio found treasure but didn’t want to share. Learners expressed a wide range of perspectives, highlighting empathy, fairness, and the value of community.
Friday – Lip Dub Prep
To close the week, Sparks revisited the past two years of Lip Dub winners (hint: both times it was us!) to spark ideas for this year’s performance. After brainstorming ways to make their routine unique, the excitement in the studio was contagious. The Sparks are determined to bring home the trophy for the third year in a row!
It was a week filled with creativity, collaboration, and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see what next week brings. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday!
