- 2 min read

This was the fourth week of Session Four, and it’s hard to believe we are already more than 80% through the school year.
On Monday, Launchpad learners planned their schedules for the week ahead, setting goals and organizing their time.
Some of the highlights this week included:
P.D. session with Jacob
House Cup games on Wednesday
Alpine Day on Friday
Ongoing planning for Physics Day at the end of the session
Genre
This week in Genre, each learner completed their Hero’s Allegory—a story reflecting personal challenges, written in the style of the Hero’s Journey. After sharing their work, learners exchanged feedback to strengthen character development and clarify their story’s message.
Civ
In Civ, learners explored the risks of illiberal ideologies such as nationalism and fascism. They examined historical context and discussed what contributed to the rise of Adolf Hitler, encouraging thoughtful reflection and debate.
Quest
Quest was a highlight of the week. Learners applied their research to hands-on physics challenges, making predictions and testing them through experiments. They explored concepts like velocity and acceleration by observing marbles rolling down ramps and aiming to land them in a target. It required both precision and persistence.
Alpine Day
To wrap up the week, the entire AABC community spent Friday at Alpine Scout Camp. Launchpad learners played games with their House Groups, hiked with Journey learners, and cooked food over an open fire—an experience that combined teamwork, independence, and outdoor skills.
Overall, this was a strong and productive week, setting the stage for the final two weeks of the session.
