Dear Sparks Parents,
Happy Friday! We hope you had a joyful and productive week. Here’s a look at what the Sparks have been up to:
We kicked off Monday with a meaningful launch on kindness, setting the tone for the week. The Sparks then jumped into Core, enjoyed Chess Quest, and spent time exploring outdoors in the woods.
On Tuesday, we had a special Hero’s Visit from a Sparks parent. She brought LEGO sets for group building and spoke with the learners about communication and speaking skills. The Sparks absolutely loved the experience! Later, during Writers Workshop, they wrote about their unique “superpowers” and decorated capes to match. The day ended with more time outdoors.
Wednesday featured more Chess Quest, where the Sparks learned about the Queen piece and played their first full game using all the pieces. They also received mentorship from Launch Pad learners, participated in House Cup, and enjoyed time outside.
On Thursday, the day began with a launch about how wildflowers grow. After Core, the Sparks headed outdoors to plant native wildflower seeds in spots they chose. During Writers Workshop, they finalized and presented their superpower speeches, offering each other warm and cool feedback. The day wrapped up with playtime on the playground.
To close out the week, the tribe met Friday morning at the Boy Scout Camp in Alpine. The Sparks spent a full day in nature, connecting with their House Cup teams, playing games at the forts, and enjoying walks around the camp.
Enjoy the weekend!
