Welcome, parents, we are back not only from break but from California too! We took many photos, and it was a very exciting time, but this session is full of excitement too.

Genre is an introspective one, asking Learners to think about what guidance they might need most in the future and how they can be their own beacon through letters to their future selves. Obviously we won't be able to predict each and every twist and turn, but the hope is to have something to pick us up off our feet and keep moving! Two drafts were made this week, one to help us face the abyss of failure, and the other to curb the ego of victory. In the following weeks, we will write more for a variety of situations and begin to refine them.

Quest, on the other hand, is a little more complex this session as it is not one but two badges at the same time. Each day, Learners will alternate between the study of psychology and the skill of art. This gives Learners the opportunity to not only learn such important topics but also to catch up on any missed badges from this year! To begin our session strong Learners have started learning about the conscious, unconscious, and the preconscious mind for our psychology. Then, for art, we had to get acquainted with our tools by making two portraits, one of ourselves and the other of another person from memory!

For Civ this session, we will be learning all about World Wars I and II. Events that shaped not only our country's history, but that of the world itself, shaping policies within and between borders. This week, we just dipped our toes in by asking the question, should Woodrow Wilson have stepped in and participated in WWI? However, we also spoke on how war impacts a country's civilians, economy, and general stability.

In other exciting news, we have another trip! This time it is to Miami, where we will get to enjoy the fruits of our fundraising on the sunny beaches there. If you would like to learn more, please check your inbox for the Final Details email if you haven’t already.

Best wishes to all, and remember, even if the school year may be coming to an end, we still have much to do!
