Movement, Creativity, Friendship & a Fieldhouse Adventure (Session 2, Week 5)

Hello Sparks Families,

What an eventful and energizing week we’ve had! Week 5 of Session 2 was filled with movement, reflection, creativity, and a much-anticipated adventure to The Fieldhouse.

We kicked off the week with Movement Monday, exploring all the different ways we move in sports—swimming, biking, running, climbing, and more. During launch, the Sparks explored what sportsmanship means and how to show fairness, kindness, and respect while playing. In the afternoon, our learners continued preparing their acts and artwork for the upcoming Talent Show and Art Show.

Talent Tuesday brought thoughtful reflection as the Sparks listened to The Reflection in Me and shared the things they love most about themselves, along with qualities they hope to grow. Later, they added meaningful details to their Hero’s Boards.

On Wednesday, we took a detour from our usual Wildlife Wednesday and embraced Fieldhouse Wednesday instead! Sparks shared their favorite sports and the sports they’d love to try—even the challenging ones. In the afternoon, excitement buzzed as everyone boarded the bus for our field trip to The

Fieldhouse, where they enjoyed an afternoon of indoor fun and active play.

For Hero’s Journey Thursday, the Sparks heard the story of King Midas and identified what makes it a true hero’s journey. They then continued adding depth and creativity to their Hero’s Boards.

We wrapped up the week with Friendship Friday, reflecting on the kind of friend each learner hopes to be remembered as. After a warm and thoughtful launch, the Sparks put their trust—and their bonds—to the test during a Trust Fall activity. It was inspiring to see them encouraging and supporting one another.
