Dear Sparks Families,
What a memorable and exciting week we've had in the Sparks Kingdom! With a surprising twist to our schedule, we kicked off the week with Talent Tuesday, setting a creative and flexible tone for the days ahead.
✨ Talent Tuesday – Improvisation in Action
Our week began with an unexpected (and wonderful!) opportunity for growth. Two learners who were scheduled for Show & Tell forgot their items, which led to a spontaneous lesson in improvisation. The Sparks stepped up beautifully—several learners volunteered to share personal items they had with them and explained why those objects were meaningful. Their confidence, quick thinking, and teamwork were truly inspiring.
Later that afternoon, Sparks continued working on their Hero’s Boards. Some began transferring ideas onto their final posters, while others jumped into the artwork stage. We’re already seeing thoughtful designs and amazing creativity emerging.
🐾 Wildlife Wednesday – Exploring North America
Sparks remained in North America for another week of wildlife discovery. They revisited animals introduced last week and compared them with new ones learned this week. Learners also discussed the different countries within North America and made insightful guesses about which animals might live where—and why. Their curiosity and reasoning continue to shine.
In the afternoon, Sparks practiced for the upcoming Talent Show, with a special focus on visual arts. They spent time creating detailed drawings, building confidence, and exploring their artistic abilities.
🌟 Hero’s Journey Thursday – Lessons from Steve Jobs
On Thursday, Sparks explored a launch inspired by Steve Jobs, learning how even highly successful people ask for help and rely on others. After a meaningful discussion, learners identified at least one person they’d like to ask for help from—an exercise in humility, courage, and personal growth.
During the afternoon, Sparks returned to their Hero’s Boards. Some began assembling their final boards, while others continued brainstorming and planning. It’s a beautiful reminder that every learner moves at their own pace—and each path is valuable.
🌲 Alpine Friday – A Day Outdoors
We wrapped up the week with a fantastic trip to Alpine Scout Camp. Sparks joined the rest of the school for House Cup and spent an exciting hour completing challenges to earn bonus points for their Houses. In the afternoon, we gathered outdoors for a nature-focused launch, giving Sparks a chance to reflect, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the beauty around them.
