Hello parents, learners, families, and friends,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the break. Let’s jump into our weekly update, starting with WW.
Theatrical Writing Writers Workshop
This week in Writers Workshop, we continued working on our theatrical writing scenes. Most learners completed their scenes, and once finished, they participated in a table read. For the table read, learners partnered with another group—one group read their scene aloud while the other group listened and gave feedback. Then we switched roles so everyone had a chance to both share and respond.
After revising based on feedback, scenes were submitted for approval by the Excellence Committee. We then gathered in a circle, and groups who wanted to share their scenes presented them to the whole class. It was exciting to see everyone’s creativity and confidence shine!
That wraps up WW, now on to Quest.
Cartography Quest
This week in Cartography Quest, we began learning about the continent of Europe. On the first day, learners completed a map based activity with questions that required careful observation and critical thinking. Some found it challenging, while others felt confident—it really depended on the learner. After finishing, learners could practice for the Geography Bee or play geography games.
On the second day, we went on a European landmark scavenger hunt! Pictures and names of famous landmarks were hidden around the school. Once learners found them all, they researched which country and city each landmark belongs to. It was a fun and active way to learn geography.
Community Highlights
This week was also full of special moments. We enjoyed a discovery salad, celebrated Aviya’s birthday with cupcakes, and had a birthday Kahoot for Marie and Nico R. Fun fact, Marie and Aviya share the same birthday!
So much happened this week, and it was great to celebrate together.
I can’t wait to see what happens next week.
Have a great weekend!
