Hello parents, learners, and family members,
We’re going to start with Writers Workshop. As you all know, WW is Theatrical Writing. This week was a very wonky week—we only had two full days and one half-day because of Thanksgiving, so we only had WW once.
For WW this week, learners used the time to catch up on past challenges or take on bonus challenges. Some created new monologues, while others worked on Core Skills if they had already finished their writing. One group in South even created and performed a scene! Many learners chose to perform their monologues for the group. That’s it for WW—now let's move on to Quest!
In Quest, as you know, we are doing Cartography Quest. Just like WW, we only had one day for it this week, so we stayed on the continent of Africa. Each learner picked an African country and sculpted it out of clay. Then they wrote facts about their country—its name, capital, population, languages spoken, and animals that live there. On the back of their project, they drew the country’s flag.
On Wednesday, we had our Thanksgiving Party, which was planned by the Council! It was a lot of fun, filled with many activities and, of course, a delicious feast.
Now we want to tell you a bit about the Discovery Pajama Party. It’s going to be awesome! It will be on Friday, December 5th, from 5:00–7:00 PM, and it is only for Discovery. There will be games, music, candy, fun, and more. More details will be shared soon.
For now, have a great weekend and a wonderful Thanksgiving!
