Dear Sparks’ Tribe Families,
We are excited to share that the first week of the 2026 school year was full of energy, curiosity, and meaningful learning experiences across the Sparks Studio!
We kicked off the week with Micro Monday, diving into the fascinating world of microorganisms. Learners explored the tiny building blocks of life and asked big, thoughtful questions. In the afternoon, Sparks voted to establish studio jobs, committees, and systems, laying a strong foundation for the session ahead and building shared ownership within our learning community.
On Time Tuesday, Sparks enjoyed a launch focused on timing and rhythm in music. This set the stage perfectly for Music Quest, where learners practiced reading notes and rests within a metered beat. The studio was filled with focus, tapping toes, and growing confidence.
Macro Wednesday began with House Cup, bringing excitement and friendly competition to the morning. In the afternoon, Sparks launched into Biology Quest with a hands-on scientific experiment. Using microscopes, learners examined a yogurt culture and carefully drew and documented their observations—practicing both scientific skills and attention to detail.
During Read Aloud Thursday, Sparks listened to 88 Instruments by Chris Barton. Learners shared their favorite parts of the story and discussed which instruments sparked their interest. Later that afternoon, Music Quest challenged Sparks to create their own sheet music, and they rose to the challenge with creativity, courage, and enthusiasm.
We wrapped up the week with Fitness Friday, where Sparks focused on core strength during an energetic eleven-minute workout targeting abs and legs. The high energy carried right into Core Time, setting a strong and positive tone to end the week.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone next week!
