Hello Parents, Learners, Families, and Friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful week! Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to in Discovery:
Writer’s Workshop:
As you know, we’ve been focusing on conversations in Writer’s Workshop. Last week, learners researched and watched several interviews to identify great communication techniques. Some learners even created Google Docs where they listed their top five tips for being good listeners in a conversation. We also began drafting questions with our partners for our own interviews—some of us have already started the interview process!
Quest:
This session’s Quest is Culture Quest, and it’s quickly become a favorite! Learners have been diving into creative challenges such as making sugar skulls, Russian scarves, henna tattoos, and Djembe drumming. This week, each group held a reflection meeting to discuss what’s working well and what could improve. While some found it challenging, most agreed that the process helped them move forward with new ideas and teamwork.
Art:
In Art, we continued working on our fusion animals—it’s been amazing to see everyone’s imagination come to life! Some of the creations are absolutely hilarious, and we can’t wait for you to see them at Exhibition.
Exhibition Prep:
Speaking of Exhibition, we officially selected our Exhibition Hosts! They’ve already started preparing and planning for the big event. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in Session 1!
This week was packed with creativity, teamwork, and fun—from art and monsters to free time and laughter. I can’t wait to see what next week brings.
Have a fantastic weekend and an awesome day!
