Hello fellow parents, this week was Halloween! We had an activities committee that planned the full school day. We had activities like cookie decorating, tombstone making, witch hat painting, and so much more! For our P.E. activity, we played Capture the Flag. The whole point of the game is to get to the other side, grab the flag, and return to your side. For our movie, we watched Hotel Transylvania.
For the Quest, learners learned about marine biology. In this Quest there are different levels, and everyone started on the krill level. For the krill level, you had to do a packet. Inside the packet you had to name/draw the currents and for the activity we learned about ducks in flow. To complete the activity learners got a container with water, and then made balls out of aluminum foil. We then blew on the water to make a current. When we stopped blowing we saw what happened to the aluminum balls. Even though we stopped blowing they kept moving.
Now every Wednesday we have something called wed-list-day where there is a theme either made by a guide or suggested by a learner, and we all make lists of as many words that fit the theme as we can. It was so fun! There were a lot of winners but in all, we had a great time!
Hope you have a great week!
