This week, Discovery enjoyed going on a field trip to STEM Arena! They participated in many different STEM activities like drone dynamics where they experienced how to fly and code a drone, 3D pen art printing, off-road track racing, and horse-powered boat racing.
For Writer’s Workshop, some learners had the opportunity to send their podcasts to the competition, where you can win 100 dollars! In addition, before sending their podcasts the learners had to go through an approval process in order to earn their badge or milestone. This approval process includes anyone who has also completed their criteria and is also ready for feedback.
For the remainder of the week, the Falcons spent the week finishing up any pending work including Special, Art, Quest, and CIV. For Quest, they enjoyed creating a game design of a deck of cards. The learners create instructions for the game and design their game on blank cards! Some learners designed cards inspired by other games like Uno, Apples to Apples, and games playing on a regular deck of playing cards like Poker and Pig.
