Journey: Session 4, Week 1

Welcome back, Sparks families.

At the beginning of the week, the Falcons created their imaginary islands, naming them and deciding with rules they would use to govern their islands. We had an exciting discussion about compromising: Would they prefer to create their island the way they want or compromise some ideas to build with a friend?

On Wednesday, we learn how to say kind words in different languages. This week’s language was Russian, and the Falcons learned how to say hello, I miss you, I love you, or goodbye to loved ones.

We have made it to the showdown for our hero's journey. We watched a clip of how Moana restored the heart of Tifiti, and the learners talked about the biggest obstacles of facing their fears.

For fun fact Friday, the learners have been coming up with their facts! It is inspiring to see the learners find their interests.

For quest this session, we are on a journey to discover the world. Our first stop is Antarctica. The learners have been creating their maps and making penguin origami. Since Antarctica is always cold, we made snow cones.

We would like to Thank Yulia, our first storyteller around the world. The learners loved her story and the different Ukrainian dance moves, and we can’t wait to hear more stories throughout the session.
