Hello Parents, Learners, and Family Members,
This week was full of exciting learning across multiple subjects! From persuasive writing and game design to studying the Lenape language and exploring 3D form in art, our learners stayed curious and engaged.
Writer’s Workshop
In Writer’s Workshop, students continued working on their “Pitch a Field Trip” persuasive writing project. We learned about persuasive techniques such as ethos (credibility), addressing objections and rebuttals, and creating a strong call to action. Some learners have completed their drafts and are now editing, while others are still finishing their pitches. Everyone is making great progress!
Quest: Game Design Project
In Quest, we are deep into our Game Design Project. This week, students planned their final games by answering important design questions such as:
What is the storyline behind your game?
What are the rules?
What special materials will you need?
Learners also began designing logos and visual elements for their games. Next week, we will begin building the games in preparation for our Exhibition, where everyone will be able to see and play them!
Civics: Learning About the Lenape
In Civics, we continued learning about the Lenape people, focusing on their language. Students explored how to talk about the weather and say numbers in Lenape. For example, kwëtash nishash means 6 and 7!
Art: Understanding Form
In Art, we learned about form, also known as 3D shapes, and how artists create depth and dimension in their work.
Thank you for reading our weekly update. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to another great week of learning!
Have an amazing day!
