Dear Discovery Parents,
This week was full of exciting milestones, celebrations, and hands-on learning experiences in Discovery Studio.
We focused on completing and logging our Writers Workshop Milestones, where learners created podcasts. We are excited to announce the winners of the 2026 AABC Podcast Competition:
3rd Place: Aviya, Emma C., and Yahli
2nd Place (tie): Maya and Livia
1st Place: Ella E., Ofri, and Emmy
Congratulations to all participants for their creativity and hard work!
In Quest, learners spent time polishing their scripts in preparation for Exhibition. They also worked on posters, experiments, and even incorporated weather tracking into their projects.
On Tuesday, we held our Exhibition, and we are so grateful to all the parents and guardians who came to support and celebrate the learners’ work.
Wednesday was a fun outdoor day at Mollicone Park—our first visit there in a while! Learners enjoyed playing capture the flag, running track, and kickball.
On Thursday, we traveled to Alpine for a special Physics Day led by Journey learners. It was both engaging and inspiring to see the hands-on demonstrations and challenges they prepared.
We also began preparing for the next session by transitioning between North and South groups, voting for Squad leaders, selecting studio jobs, and reflecting on progress toward badge goals.
Here are a few reflections from the learners:
Emma C. shared that she was excited to place third in the podcast competition.
Ella D. enjoyed P.E., especially playing capture the flag.
Nico R. loved going to Mollicone Park, saying it felt like the first time in years.
Yahil L. was proud of finishing 6th grade level work in Khan Academy.
Thank you, Discovery parents, for taking the time to read this week’s update. We appreciate your continued support and partnership.
Wishing you all a wonderful break!
