Podcast Workshop, Weather Experiments & Learner Adventures (Session 4, Week 2)

Hello parents, learners, and family members,
This week was full of fun and meaningful learning across all areas!
In our Podcast Writer’s Workshop, learners began developing their own podcasts. They completed a brainstorm sheet to generate ideas and explored different podcast formats, including topic-based discussions, debates, and interviews. After brainstorming, learners moved on to planning their podcasts and making final decisions before beginning their scripts.
In this session’s Quest, we are diving into a Weather Quest! This week, learners began using the weather instruments they created last week to track daily weather conditions. They then moved on to hands-on experiments, starting with creating a cloud in a jar using hot water, ice, and hairspray. After completing a cloud memory challenge, they built a storm cloud in a jar using water, shaving cream, and colored droplets to simulate rainfall. For their final challenge, learners chose to either design a game about clouds or create a presentation to showcase their learning.
We also had a lot of fun during Physical Development (PD) this week! Since much of the snow had melted, we stayed on campus instead of going to Memorial Park and enjoyed playing on the remaining snow piles. Some learners played basketball or group games, while others climbed and explored the snow.
This session, we introduced something new for Free Fridays. In addition to the usual options, learners can now choose a weekly surprise activity. This week’s surprise was a trip to Starbucks! Many learners chose to participate, enjoying the walk, time together, and a chance to relax and connect while waiting for their drinks and snacks.
That’s all for this week—we’re looking forward to another great week ahead!
