This week has been fabulous in Discovery Studio!
We are excited to announce that there will be a Session 6 Party—thank you to the Party Planning Committee for organizing it! Many learners are earning FFs, and everyone is looking forward to celebrating together. Learners are also bringing snacks for the party, including Cheetos, pretzels, and many other favorites.
This week's newsletter includes:
Core Skills
Mural & Memory Books
Gardening
WW Reflections
Learner Tips
Core Skills
It was the first week of the session, and learners came ready to work. Many people completed goals and made excellent progress. There were fewer distractions in the studios this week, and everyone worked hard during Core Skills time.
Mural & Memory Books
Last session, the studio voted on a mural design created by Emmy and Vivi. The winning mural says:
"Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Already Taken."
This session, we will begin creating the mural together as a community project.
Learners also started working on their Memory Books. These books include pages about favorite moments from the school year, summer plans, memories, and other fun reflections.
Gardening
This week, we had Gardening Special! Learners chose from a variety of seeds to plant in cups filled with soil. There were both flowers and food plants to choose from. Some of the seeds have already started sprouting, and we are excited to watch them grow.
WW Reflections
In WW, learners have been reflecting on their school year. We discussed many different experiences, accomplishments, and memories from the year.
Soon, learners will record and share some of their reflections. These recordings will be uploaded to Google Drive and included as part of our year-end celebration.
We are also excited because this session we will be going to Darlington!
Tips for Learners
Tip #1
If you find yourself getting distracted by friends and struggling to complete your goals, try setting time goals. This can help you stay focused and productive.
Tip #2
If you finish your goals early, consider completing additional goals. This can help you make even more progress and earn badges faster.
WW Tip
When you reach a milestone, celebrate your achievement with a small reward, such as a fidget, squishy, LEGO build, or another fun activity. Rewards can help motivate learners to stay focused and continue working toward their goals.
That's all for this week's newsletter!
We hope you enjoyed reading about what's happening in Discovery Studio. Have a wonderful rest of the week.
