Greetings Sparks Tribe families!
This week was filled with exploration, collaboration, and creativity as the Sparks Tribe embarked on new adventures and challenges. Here’s a look back at all the exciting moments from Week 4 of Session 3.
Tinkering Tuesday: Building Bridges of Innovation
The Sparks Tribe kicked off the morning with a field trip to the incredible “R Child STEM Center.” It was a hands-on start to the day as everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work on a challenging engineering task—building bridges! Using cardboard and popsicle sticks, the group put their problem-solving skills to the test, designing sturdy, creative structures that showcased their ingenuity. The energy in the room was electric as ideas flowed and designs came to life.
Engineering Wednesday: From Memories to Marble Runs
Wednesday morning began with an engaging launch focused on the concept of memories. The Sparks Tribe dove into meaningful discussions, exploring what memories mean to them. Are they happy, sad, or maybe a mix of emotions? It was an inspiring start to the day, sparking thoughtful reflections and conversations.
By the afternoon, the inner engineers of the Tribe took center stage! Breaking into small groups, everyone collaborated to design and build their own marble runs. The creativity on display was incredible as the Sparks brought their imaginative ideas to life, designing tracks that zigged, zagged, and looped in all sorts of fun ways.
Thankful Thursday: Teamwork and Creativity
Thursday was a day for gratitude and connection. During a group discussion, the Sparks explored ideas about what makes a brain break effective and appropriate.
These conversations helped everyone reflect on how to recharge while being mindful of others.
In the afternoon, writer’s workshop buzzed with excitement as the Tribe began working together on their second picture book. Cameras clicked as collaborative photoshoots got underway, capturing creative scenes for their story. Out on the playground, Sophie from Launchpad joined the Sparks for a lively team-building activity that encouraged communication, trust, and teamwork.
Fitness Friday: Stack, Run, Repeat!
The week wrapped up with high-energy fun during the ultimate stack-and-run challenge. The Sparks were divided into two teams for a thrilling competition, racing to stack cups as quickly as possible. Laughter and cheers filled the room as each team gave it their all, showcasing their speed, coordination, and team spirit.
Week 4 was another shining example of how the Sparks Tribe grows, learns, and thrives together. Here’s to more adventures ahead in Week 5!
