Dear Sparks Families,
This week was filled with energy, creativity, and deep thinking as our learners explored a variety of exciting experiences that challenged both their minds and bodies!
Fitness Monday kicked off with a powerful exercise in focus and determination. Our Sparks practiced channeling all their energy into a race that tested not only their physical endurance but also their ability to stay mentally present. It was a thrilling challenge that left everyone feeling accomplished and energized.
In honor of Earth Day on Tuesday, our learners engaged in a thought-provoking Community Conundrum. They explored four different types of communities, each with unique strengths and challenges. Learners thoughtfully selected which community they would want to live in and shared how those choices compared to their real-life experiences. The conversations were rich, reflective, and full of insight.
On Entrepreneurship Wednesday, Sparks were inspired by a group of entrepreneurial brothers who run their own cookie baking business. After hearing their story, our learners reflected on their own dreams—debating whether they would rather run a small business with one dedicated team member or a large-scale company with hundreds of employees. It sparked some big ideas!
Thursday brought a Hero's Visit from Jessica, owner of Eliana’s Party Decor, a vibrant party decorating business. She shared how essential math skills and excellent customer service are to her success. Sparks were captivated by her creativity and professionalism. Throughout the week, learners continued developing their own business fair ideas, gaining inspiration from each activity.
On Read Aloud Friday, we gathered to hear Stone Soup—a story about community, sharing, and the magic of coming together. Sparks reflected on the unique gifts they
each bring to the tribe and how these contributions make our group stronger and more connected.
As the Business Fair gets closer, the energy and focus has been growing fiercely. The Sparks can’t wait to show off their ideas and products for the Business Fair. Until then, we wish you a joyful and restful weekend!
