Dear Sparks Families,

What a joyful and reflective third week we've had together in the studio! This week was filled with gratitude, scientific wonder, self-expression, and deep reflection—an inspiring blend that truly captured the spirit of the Sparks Tribe.

Memory Monday began with the story 10 Thank You Letters by Daniel Kirk. After a thoughtful discussion, Sparks each chose someone meaningful to them and wrote heartfelt thank you letters. It was a powerful exercise in appreciation and connection. In the afternoon, learners turned to their memory books, with some completing theirs and proudly sharing their journeys with the rest of the tribe.

Water Tuesday was a splash of science and fun! During morning circle, Sparks explored the different states of water and conducted a colorful experiment using food coloring, paper towels, and cups of water. Through this hands-on activity, they watched "walking water" in action and observed capillary action firsthand—an exciting visual of how water moves upward through materials.

Sing and Dance Wednesday brought joy and movement into the studio. Sparks reflected on what makes them happy and celebrated those things through dance—grooving to the song "Happy" with big smiles and even bigger energy. In the afternoon, the final touches were added to memory books, bringing this creative and reflective project to a close.

Reflection Thursday invited Sparks to look inward. Through a series of personal questions, they reflected on the growth they’ve experienced throughout the year on their Hero’s Journey. The conversations were rich and meaningful. That sense of focus carried into the afternoon, where Sparks tackled a second hour of Core time with determination.

Cooking Friday began with the beautifully illustrated story Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt. Sparks explored how our lives are intertwined with the earth and discussed the importance of nurturing that connection. In the afternoon, they brought creativity to the kitchen as they made their own yogurt parfaits—delicious, colorful, and made with pride!

It’s always inspiring to witness the many ways our Sparks continue to grow—academically, socially, and emotionally.
