Hello parents, learners, and family members,

This week was full of exciting learning across Quest, Writers’ Workshop, Civ, and Art. We explored new ideas, collaborated in groups, and created some amazing projects!

Let’s start with Quest.

In Quest, we continued working on our weather experiment challenges in groups. As always, we tracked and measured the weather using our instruments. This week’s highlight was creating a weather map. Each group chose a location around the world, designed a weather map using materials from the Makers Space, and wrote a script for a weather forecast. To bring it all together, we recorded our forecasts just like real news reporters—it was so much fun!

In Writers’ Workshop, we focused on podcast creation. Learners continued planning and writing their podcast scripts, and some are already recording and preparing to submit their entries to a podcast competition. It’s exciting to see the variety of ideas—some learners are creating debate-style podcasts, others are exploring topics they are passionate about, and a few are even conducting interviews. Everyone is working incredibly hard, and we can’t wait to hear the final results.

Now for Civ and Art.

In Civ, we explored the thirteen original U.S. colonies. Around the studio, we had posters with images and information about each colony. Learners rotated through the stations, reading and recording key details such as the colony’s name, founding year, and an interesting fact. We also discovered that New Jersey—where we live—is one of the original thirteen colonies!

In Art, we continued learning about the elements of art, focusing this week on space. Learners experimented with different ways to use space in their drawings, and the results were truly beautiful and creative.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s update and learning about all the exciting activities in the studio.

Have an amazing weekend, and thank you so much for reading!
