Civ! -

This week, for Civ, we researched Christopher Columbus and what occurred after he had reached the New World. We learned about how he treated the indigenous people, and how, after one of his ships was damaged, he was forced to leave behind some of his crew on the island of Hispaniola (Haiti). While he was gone, the crew left behind abused the indigenous people, and the indigenous people destroyed the settlement and murdered the crewmembers, leading to battles between the colonists and the native tribes.

Genre! -

This week, for Genre, we had our Invitation Emails greenlit, and once they were approved by Michal, we sent them to our heroes. The emails contained an invitation for an interview with a hero chosen by each learner and their partner.

We also began watching examples of different interviews, offered feedback, and on Friday, we began drafting our interview questions.

Lip Dub! -

The winners for the Film Festival have been announced, and the AABC Discovery and Sparks Studios both won first place in the regional round and will be moving on to the Nationals!

Congrats, Discovery and Sparks!

The Journey Studio came in 3rd place, and as a result, will be acting as judges in the Nationals for the MS category.

In the Nationals, the judges all come from Actons throughout the nation and rate each regional winner.
