Quest!
This week, we finished and reflected on the conversation we had with a friend or family member outside of the Studio. We also started preparing topics for the Exhibition and learned how to avoid arguments in conversations, as the goal of any conversation is not to take part in an argument. To practice this skill, we spoke with other learners about our opinions on different topics since these types of conversations often lead to arguments.
Genre!
This week, we finished our interviews and made our interview stories, which included: Intro, Transcript, Comments, and Conclusion. Afterward, we sent thank-you letters to the heroes who took the time to let us interview them.
Exhibition!
Last week, we elected Exhibition hosts who will plan the exhibition and create the script. On Wednesday, they presented their plan for the Exhibition. This plan included individual sharing, the Ted Talk game (surprise!), and a Q&A, along with a Feedback session. The learners then gave feedback on the plan, including the timing and order of the activities.
Civ!
This week, we talked about Thomas More and Oliver Cromwell. Thomas More wrote the book Utopia, in which he described his version of a perfect society in which there was no private property or land, and people moved back and forth between cities and farms. Thomas More was executed because he refused to acknowledge King Henry VIII as the Head of the Church.
Thomas Cromwell led the British parliamentary revolution against the monarchy and crowned himself the Lord Protector of England after overthrowing the monarchy.
